Who We Are

The European Industry University Research Association (EIURA) is a not-for-profit and independent society of members who are interested in promoting and facilitating collaborative research relevant to Information and Communication Technology between industry and research institutions in Europe. EIURA promotes the benefits and increases the awareness of collaborative research.

By providing practices and guidelines on collaborative research EIURA assists members in identifying suitable projects and possible collaborators. EIURA provides related information to collaborative research and helps to decide on collaboration types, finding suitable funding sources and successful project management approaches. EIURA promotes, sponsors and develops a number of services, including the organization of workshops, conferences and training courses, the publication of information material, books and journals, research projects in collaboration with Industry and Universities and other Institutes.

About EIURA Members

EIURA members are the foundation of the Association and contribute with their expertise to the community and to the development of many of its products and services. Members come from different backgrounds and disciplines with an interest in collaborative research between Industry and academia relevant to Information and Communication Technology. Members include

  • Individual researchers and students from academia and professionals from industry
  • Enterprises from various sectors and sizes
  • Governmental and Public Agencies
  • Universities, and Research institutes and organizations with a research interest

EIURA becomes a European hub for cultivating and facilitating trans-national university-industry research collaborations relevant to Information and Communication Technology supporting research innovations with a significant impact to the society.

Our Mission

EUIRA connects its members and provides information, knowledge, best practice and advice on innovative research between university and industry by building an interdisciplinary community that supports learning and sharing of expertise.

Our Goals

EIURA's goals are to:

  • Raise the profile and recognition of collaborative research within industry, academy and the society.
  • Develop a platform for members to connect, learn, identify and initiate collaborative research projects
  • Dissemination of research outputs, practices and experiences
  • Build and maintain a body of knowledge for facilitating and managing collaborative research
  • Provide advice for funding bodies and decisions makers in industry and government on research trends and requirements for trans-national university-industry research collaborations

Governance

EIURA is a member centric organization, which is managed by a Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is supported by an Advisory Council. The Directors and Advisory Council direct EIURA business and drive membership activity. The work of the Association is carried out by volunteer efforts from its involved members and employees of the association.

The EIURA Board of Directors and Advisory Council meet monthly to discuss recent activities and decisions that are pertinent to the work of the Association. EIURA members can get engaged with the Association by bringing forward questions, suggestions or presenting ideas to the Secretary. All members will have an opportunity to meet at the Annual General Meeting
